To Foreign Nationals
Our clinic is a specialized fertility treatment clinic. When receiving medical care in Japan, it is essential that patients understand the treatment content before undergoing treatment. For this reason, communication through language is indispensable.
When foreign nationals undergo treatment, Japanese language ability sufficient to understand the doctor’s explanations is required—not merely Japanese ability sufficient for daily life. Our clinic does not provide treatment when the female patient cannot fully understand the doctor’s explanations.
Because we provide advanced and specialized treatment, we are unable to accommodate accompanying interpreters, interpretation by partners, or translation via mobile phone applications.
Even if you yourself judge that you can understand, please be aware in advance that treatment may not be possible if the doctor determines that sufficient understanding cannot be obtained for carrying out the treatment.
Regarding Marriage Verification Documents
From April 2022, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has made it mandatory to verify marital relationships when conducting fertility treatment. Therefore, before starting treatment, it is necessary to submit documents to verify the marital relationship. The required documents differ depending on the type of marital relationship (legal marriage or common-law marriage) and nationality (Japanese or foreign).
Treatment policy is decided based on the results after various examinations are performed. The required documents must be submitted before then. Since some documents take time to prepare, we recommend preparing them in advance.
※ If there is a change in family registry status after submitting documents—such as registering a marriage or changing partners—please notify us promptly. ※ If there has been no visit for more than one year, resubmission of the required documents will be necessary when treatment is resumed.
